The International Coaching Federation (ICF) and pioneers in coaching, Janet Harvey and Amorah Ross, define coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment.”

Through the coaching process, there are countless benefits. Coaches support clients in becoming more self aware, learn more about themselves, go deeper into their needs, purpose and priorities, look at their environment and how to best work and operate in it. It also helps clients gain different perspectives, make better choices, define and redefine their goals and direct their actions towards their objectives. Coaching helps unleash creativity, find a new purpose, motivation and much more.

Another benefit of coaching is that it is not a theory or just something that “sounds good”, but a practical and individualized approach that truly helps the client grow, develop and feel more inspired.

Why look for a Coach?

Why do businesses and individuals look for coaching? The answer can be as simple as companies and firms are looking for training and coaching services to help develop their people and to grow their business. As individuals, however, we are “curious beings” and we are constantly looking for something new to help us find more happiness, have more fulfillment or to simply better ourselves.

A lot of clients look for coaching when they are going through a transitional period, be it a challenging or positive situation at work or personally; going through experiences where they need help or extra support. A great coach listens carefully, looks at the clients’ needs and design solutions that are tailor-made to that person.

A good coach mixes coaching with skills sharing and consulting when needed, asks the right questions, uses active listening and is present for the client. A good coach focuses on what will add most value to the client to help him or her feel more inspired and grow.

At FELIZ Consulting, we are very proud to provide coaching that works well for each individual and organization. In a similar approach to training, we use a clear four-step process to find out our client’s needs. We LISTEN, CREATE, DELIVER and EVALUATE.

We like to think of ourselves as partners rather than just “vendors”, helping individuals and organisations be the best they can. Coaching is a huge part of what we do to help others grow and be happier, and we are proud of the work we do at FELIZ Consulting.

Founded by experienced Corporate Trainer and Coach Mônica Zionede Hall, FELIZ Consulting is a leading boutique training and coaching company based in Hong Kong providing bespoke, fun, interactive and valuable corporate training, executive and transformational coaching, facilitation and consultancy services across the Asia-Pacific region.

FELIZ has quickly gained a unique reputation in the region, especially in the legal and financial industries. Our team provides truly customised and valuable 1:1 coaching sessions that meet the clients’ needs making a lasting and positive impact.

A good coaching session is a conversation that uncovers meaning, purpose and expands from the content at hand. This conversation is not meant to be a debate, selling or convincing anyone of anything.

A successful coaching session starts with the client being open and willing to be coached, and for a transformative shift to take place, to inspire and advance that potential. We start with a simple yet essential framework for the coaching to be successful, the ACC (Awareness-Clarity-Choice) Conversation Framework:

A: Awareness
What happened? Create a space! Start the conversation! Open up! A space where the client and coach are both totally present, not reactive but fully present and receptive to the NOW moment.

C: Clarity
What really matters? Go deeper into what matters, uncover the highest intention, purpose, and actions.

C: Choice
What is next? What are the options? How do we go from here? Create a support structure to stay true and brave to make decisions that are true to self, stay committed and move forward.

There are several tools used in our coaching. It takes a skillful professional and trained coach to ask good questions, to be an active listener, to be present and to bring out the best out of the process.
