Irene has over twenty years experience in the learning and development space. A native of Hong Kong from Thai-Chinese heritage, she has spent her formative years in Canada and returned to Hong Kong in 1990 to begin her career in sales and marketing with Chanel, then with Clinique China. Irene was also trained as an image consultant by John Robert Powers in Boston and in the Philippines.
In 1996, Irene joined Cathay Pacific Airways as a Training Specialist and at the same time discovered her passion in facilitation and personal development. She is known as an intuitive facilitator and one who can gracefully translate complex concepts into actions that participants can easily relate to. By working in Asia, North America and Europe, Irene has also gained and enjoyed the exposure to different cultures and backgrounds. Her proven ability in translating vision and strategy into actions, and of engaging individuals and teams irrespective of status, personality, or culture has helped her achieve success and bring teams together as the first Regional Training Manager for Tiffany & Co. in Asia Pacific.
At Tiffany & Co, Irene worked for solid 11 years. She joined it in 2003 and achieved collaborative success between headquarters and regional markets. At the time she left Tiffany & Co. as Head of Education & Development for the Asia Pacific region (2010-1014), Irene had supported the rapid growth of the regional markets by defining training strategies and providing coaching and management for the development of different staff levels in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. From 2007 to 2010, as Sales & Operations Director for Tiffany Hong Kong and Macau, Irene successfully championed organisational restructuring in a rapidly changing environment; focusing on sales performance, strategic planning, personnel management, budget and operations, Irene was responsible for leading and managing a sales team of over one hundred members plus a customer service team.
Since 2014 Irene has been working as an independent consultant and coach, and has recently joined Feliz Consulting as one of it’s Associate Consultants. A Transcend Certified Professional Coach, Irene works with the principles of transformational coaching. She believes authenticity is what defines influential leadership and drives commercial success. She is also an MBTI practitioner.
She has worked with clients such as LVMH, Richemont, GAP Global Sourcing, Agoda, China Light and Power and other multi-national organisations. She is also a speaker and lecturer at HKU SPACE.
Irene obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages from McGill University. In subsequent years, she has completed her Master of Arts in Literary and Cultural Studies (2004), Master of Buddhist Studies (2010) and Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (2013) at the University of Hong Kong.
Irene enjoys performing arts and writing. She was the first Hong Kong champion of Asia Pacific Public Speaking Competition organized by the Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1993. Irene won the SCMP/RTHK Top Story Competition in 2013 and has since published short stories and a play. She has been a board member of Theater du pif, a Hong Kong based bilingual theatre group since 2012. In her spare time, she continues to enjoy her childhood passion in piano playing and ballet.
